S. Knotts, a FOCUS Partner, has successfully
completed over 25 transactions, and brings to the firm a record
of exceptional achievement in creating winning business strategies
and profitable business operations. For the past 25 years,
Mr. Knotts’ extensive knowledge of business strategy,
operations and effective use of technology has guided companies
and provided strategic vision for organizational growth. Through
his industry involvement, Knotts also supplies unmatched insight
into business processes improvement.
Prior to joining FOCUS, he
was responsible for transforming Tampa-based CommerceQuest,
Inc. into a leading BPM software provider in less than two
years. After joining CommerceQuest in 2002 as CEO, he led
the acquisition of KMG Solutions which further positioned
the company as a powerhouse in the BPM space, battling heavyweights
such as IBM, TIBCO and webMethods.
Previously, Mr. Knotts was founder, chief sales
and marketing officer and a board member of Answerthink
(NASDAQ: ANSR), a global consulting company. Through effective
acquisitions and organic growth, he helped the firm grow to
more than $300 million in three years. In the turbulent market
of 1998, he co-led Answerthink’s successful
IPO.
Prior to Answerthink, Knotts was a
senior partner in charge of the integration practice at KPMG,
growing the IT consulting business from $65 to $500 million
in four years. Knotts also was a business unit executive with
IBM, expanding revenue from $15 million to $126 million in
a three-year period.
Mr. Knotts is the recipient of numerous awards,
including: Georgia Southern University, Alumni of the Year;
KPMG Global Partner Award
KPMG Leadership Award; IBM, Business Unit Executive of the
Year;
IBM, Marketing Manager of the Year; three IBM Golden Circle
Awards and six IBM 100 Percent Club Awards.
Mr. Knotts has a B.B.A. in management information
systems from Georgia Southern University. He serves as Chairman
of the advisory board for the Georgia Southern College of
Information Technology and is a member of the College of Business
Administration advisory board. He also is an active member
of the Executive Advisory Board of the Technology Association
of Georgia. Mr. Knotts is a former Non-Commissioned officer
in the United States Marine Corps.
