Matthew J. Horgan, a FOCUS Managing Director, in Charlotte, NC, has over 25 years of experience in merger and acquisition advisory services, as the President of three venture backed technology companies and as a CPA with Ernst & Young.

Prior to joining FOCUS, Mr. Horgan was the founder and Managing Director of Madison Cabe Group, LLC, an M&A firm that provided transaction advisory, operational, strategic and exit planning services across a broad range of industries.

As an operating executive, Mr. Horgan led a venture capital backed acquisition of a $3 million revenues wireless company with six employees to $125 million in revenues and $45 million in EBITDA with 750 employees throughout the Southeast, sustaining a CAGR in excess of 40% over an 11 year period. He has particular expertise in leading and advising direct sales organizations that produce their own product, and subscription based business models.

Prior to launching his entrepreneurial career, Mr. Horgan was a CPA with Ernst & Young in their New York City and Boston offices, and launched the Charlotte practice’s Entrepreneurial Services Group.

Mr. Horgan is a graduate and War Memorial Scholar of Colgate University and received his Masters Degree from New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration.
