Graham founded FOCUS Enterprises, Inc. in March of 1982.
Through the mid 1990s, he operated as an independent investment
banker assisting many startup, emerging and mid market companies
in the Washington, D.C. region with capital formation projects,
merger and acquisition projects, strategic partnering engagements
and corporate development assignments.
During the late ‘90s,
Mr. Graham’s practice evolved to include more
intensive merger, acquisition and divestiture work as commercial
and federal contracting companies matured in the Washington,
D.C. market area. At the same time, Mr. Graham recognized
the need for a sizeable middle market investment bank headquartered
in the Mid Atlantic region and set out to expand the organization
that today numbers 26 investment bankers located in Washington,
D.C., Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco.
Prior to founding
FOCUS Enterprises, Mr. Graham was successful as a senior
manager in both large and small organizations. From 1966
through 1970 he was employed by IBM Corporation where his
last position was that of Program Marketing Manager.
In
1970 Mr. Graham was recruited by Xerox Corporation to participate
with a small management team to start the Office Systems
Division. Prior to his departure in 1974 he served as District
Manager where he was responsible for all divisional sales
and marketing functions throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
In 1974 Mr.
Graham joined Credit Card Service Corporation ("CCSC")
as Senior Vice President of Marketing. CCSC was a credit card marketing company
serving major retail banks throughout the United States. Subsequently, CCSC was
sold to a private equity syndicate.
In 1978 Mr. Graham co-founded Source Telecomputing
Corporation ("The Source"),
which was the first on-line information and communications utility sold to consumers.
In 1980 Mr. Graham sold The Source to the Reader's Digest Association. Thereafter,
he stayed on as the President of Source Telecomputing Corporation until his founding
of FOCUS Enterprises in 1982.
Mr. Graham received a B.A. (Economics) degree from
the University of Pittsburgh in 1966 and is an active member
the Association for Corporate Growth.
