| Fred
Floberg, a FOCUS Regional Managing Director, has more than twenty-five years
experience in investment banking, with a concentration in
mergers and acquisitions advisory work. He has worked
with Boards of Directors, Special Committees of the Board
and entrepreneurs making leveraged acquisitions. He
has represented a wide range of clients in cross-border and
domestic transactions, including small to mid-capitalization
enterprises and public and private companies that also include
family-owned entities. His clients represent various industries,
including industrial services, equipment and capital goods,
distribution, applied technology, healthcare, specialty
chemicals, consumer products and services, information services,
and telecommunications.
Prior to joining FOCUS, Mr. Floberg had been the Manager
of Floberg and Associates, LLC, a firm specializing in financial
consulting, and M&A advisory services
to private and closely-held middle market companies.
Mr. Floberg served as Managing Director at Ocean Tomo,
LLC, an intellectual property merchant banc, where he was
head of the Corporate Finance Department specializing in
the sale of valuable portfolios of intellectual property
for Fortune 100 companies and others.
Previously, as Managing Director at Heller Financial, Inc.,
a GE Capital Company, and the co-head and founder of Heller’s
M&A department, he was in charge
of the sale of portfolio companies from the financial sponsor
and private equity client base.
Earlier, Mr. Floberg spent
four years at ABN AMRO Incorporated as the head of the North
American M&A department during which period of time his
group completed more than 100 transactions representing over
$10 billion in value. Just
prior to joining ABN AMRO Incorporated, he was a Managing
Director at The Chicago Dearborn Company, a privately-held
broker-dealer affiliated with First Chicago Corporation and
The Chicago Corporation, specializing in M&A. Mr.
Floberg began his investment banking career at Smith Barney
where he was a Managing Director and a generalist investment
banker.
Mr. Floberg holds an M.B.A. in finance from
the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business; he
holds a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law where
he served on the Law Review; and he obtained a B.A.
from Dartmouth College.
